Who We Are
The Chicago Swedish Glee Club was organized in 1869 and this makes us the second oldest continuous performing male chorus in the United States. Only the Harvard Glee Club is older. Our Club has performed across North America and internationally. We are a Non Profit Organization.
Many of changes have occurred over these many years and today the 23- voice Chicago Swedish Glee Club prides itself in providing our guests at concert performances with a broad variety of music including patriotic, classical, contemporary, spiritual, folk, religious, humorous, broadway show tunes and ethnic selections (European and American).
The Club's membership includes men from all ages and nationalities. What we all have in common is we love to sing and sing we do at every opportunity. We rehearse every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and we are directed by Steve Burke, a talented and professional conductor who works closely with us to continually expand our repertoire.
